    Silicone intercooler/turbo hoses life span?

Does anyone know what sort of life span the silicone hoses have?

and what would be the signs of failing other than obvious holes?

do they collapse like rubber hoses when they de-laminate or not?

last silicon turbo hose I saw let go was on a rice boy car and had been run near the exhaust, the glue holding the laminates had failed and after expanding like some kind of Rorschach balloon unraveled itself from behind the clamps.

in call it 15 years of exposure I've seen exactly one failure first hand.

The ones on my racing moto (rad not inter) have held up well for the past three years - know plenty of other people using term on their bikes for years without issue.

My Deefer intercooler ones are only a couple of months old but my expectation is a minimum of 5 to 10 years?

so far excluding mechanical damage or cooking on exhausts that's been my experience.

I'd imagine that cheap crappy indochinajapcrap ones might be more likely to fail than a quality one but since things that are low on quality dont generally get used as anything but dog toys around my place I dont have fist hand experience on cheapies.
