Sorry I missed your original post because I would have recommended it. I've used that stuff quite a bit over the years . . . as you would on a Landie!
At any given point in time, somewhere in the world someone is working on a Land-Rover.

Just like to know when you did the replacement, was it hard process, being researhing as it takes only to remove windscreen clamp bolts and pry it apart and remove old seal and place new one. does this sound right and the way you did it?

    Basically yes

Took a couple of hours with two of us,

Had to remove roof rack, undo B pillar bolts, winscreen to bulkhead bolts and I also have a roof console that had to come out

we could then lift the windscreen up far enough to remove and clean the old seal and ran 2 rows of the new seal

    looks like this

    Hey all,

I am about to change this seal as well whilst I repaint the whole truck.

The workshop I am doing the paintjob at wants to first replace the seal and then paint the truck to avoid painting the windscreen frame separate from the bulkhead and reassemble following the paint-job.

What are your thoughts? I got the original LR seal which is foam so I am worried that by applying the epoxy primer and the 2k PU paint (UPOL Raptor) it will get somewhat damaged..

    thanks so much!

Are you doing a colour change?

They could mask the seal, but if colour change I would ask that the frame be removed for paint along with the windscreen. The rubber around the windscreen can shrink or shift exposing the old colour.

yeah i am changing the color.

The workshop recommends to paint with topcoat the various parts that will be covered with a seal and then reassemble and paint it all up.
The workshop says that there will be challenges in reassembling it as the raptor lines is quite thick - wouldn't be as simple as masking the parts that need to be assembled together to avoid the raptor liner from painting these parts? I am just not sure that with masking the seals the paint job would come out as well OR that some parts of the seals, especially the foam ones, will be painted as well..

    thoughts?
