I doffs me hat to you sir.
Large lumps of perseverance and logic you have demonstrated in finally solving the problem.
I can but offer "fingers crossed" and wish for your future journeys to be boringly reliable.
Each time I read a thread like this, my enthusiasm to own a D2 is dampened some. Yet, want to own one I do.
Musing, could this precise fault be "read" by another diagnostic tool, or more importantly by an experienced technician from the information supplied?
Cheers,
Richard
Good point mate and sadly I cannot give you the answer as I never really connected another diagnostic tool, apart from when it initially happened. Prior to me buying my Hawkeye I took it to an independent LR crowd who connected an Autologic computer and the best answer they could come up with was the MAF was knackered, I really doubted this was the problem but replaced it anyway with nil fix. After this I got my Hawkeye. Here in Dubai there are no real specialists for things like this and for something out of the ordinary you need to do it yourself or just throw a bucket of money at it with labour & hope for the best and usually the outcome is not positive but expensive.
The 3120 high speed crank synch loss logged fault only ever happened a couple of times late on in the troubleshooting, if it had happened earlier or during the initial troubleshooting I would have looked at it all a little different.
