If that's the case you've been giving away steering lock for a very long time.
If the stops are adjusted to maximise lock on a 235/85 the 255's will foul big time.

From memory, the wording in the regs say something to the effect that, the end of the stud shall protrude 3mm through the nut.
So the pictured stud would not be classed as road worthy, although for example Landcruisers have acorn nuts, so don't comply with the letter ....

My 130 with wolf rims appears not to have had longer studs fitted to accommodate the thicker rim; there is about 1 thread of the female thread visible inside the nut, like the pic above. Pretty sure they are the original rims supplied by LR with this vehicle.
