The dealer here in United Arab Emirates was really slack at helping out so a mate of ours on an international LR forum Tweeted the issue and lo & behold the head office in Australia telephoned Kim in Dubai on Friday to arrange a replacement for him.
Hats off to the Head office and thumbs down for the local dealer.
It's been confirmed that a faulty batch of thermostats had been used but I would know the serial numbers etc....

Only early 47l ones had a non-serviceable Thermistor, that can't be replaced.
For Aus any fridge with a serial number higher than 07002739 has a serviceable thermistor. For Europe 08000472, USA 07000450. Sth Africa 07000160.
Not sure where a fridge bought in the UAE would come from.
I've had a 60l running 24/7 on 12volt through a Ciga Plug, for 2 years and had no issues with it, it's been everywhere.
They have 3 levels of battery protection/voltage cut out, that you can set.
One of the biggest issues I see with fridge set ups, is inefficient power set ups. Crap or thin wiring, poor installation, or not the right battery & isolator/charger set up.
These will power fine on ciga/merit plugs with the right set up & no voltage drop.

Mine played up . Thermostat issue two. Arb mackay replaced it with the new one without a problem as I was passing through there. The difference I can see is the display changed from green to white lcd. Did have trouble with temp control. It was factory wiring in car not good enough . Changed that and not a fault since. Did change to anderson plug at the same time.

I've had no dramas with mine. Have owned and used it hard for over three years now.
Fantastic unit. I have the 78L one. Will run off my 105ah battery for 3 days at -3deg before it gets close to the low voltage cut-off.
Cheers
