Glow Plug Relay Chatter
I have a 2000 Defender TD5 that has an intermittent problem that causes the glow plug relay to chatter. When this occurs the engine stops and cannot be restarted. If I connect the Hawkeye scanner I just get a message saying the scanner connection faulty. When I finally can get a connection and can clear the faults I get a fuel temp fault and an aircon clutch fault. Neither of these should prevent the engine from starting. Landrover dealers and service mechanics do not know what the fault is and usually just what to spend $$$$ trying to guess what the problem is. When I do get a connection into the ECU the glow plug relay and indicator light test perfectly.
Has anyone come across this problem with a Defender TD5 before? All suggestions welcome. Thanks.
