Haha - I would gladly have one of those too!

Agrojnr - thanks for the offer, very much appreciated, but I've now ordered a resovoir. (Wish I saw your post sooner!)

IsuzuRover- thanks for the info, seems as though prices are nearer to 800 mark for the steering boxes now but still manageable.

You can get PAS pumps out of the US for 4bd1 and 4bd2-T engines that will fit at around $US125. +shipping, but most of them have one of their pipes that point directly at the LR power steering box causing them to foul or kink the hoses.

Just check the specs of the pump suit the box...

I had a PAS pump on an Isuzu 4BE1 (not the "D") crack the rover 3-bolt box housing. The power steering specialist believes it was because the pressure from the Isuzu pump was too high. They modified the pump somehow to reduce pressure and replaced the box with a 4-bolt.

Not sure if the 4BD1 may have the same issue.

I think that's why I'd rather have the PAS pump with the correct part number for the Land Rover 4BD1, with over 2,000 manual steering perenties coming out of the DDA, there will be sufficient market to do a specific run.

Yeah I bought the pump from a truck wrecker presumably of an NPR- might not be ideal. It might be best for me to hold out a bit if the proper parts will become available...

    Dingsy

Hold up your pump in the correct orientation to the three bolts on the timing cover. You may be lucky enough to have the one with the correct orientation of the pipes.

I think my 110 has that problem, except it isn't a problem, there is a brass 90 degree fitting to make it a non-issue. Or are there two hoses that point straight at the PS box in your scenario?

There are ports that point straight at the box.
