PTO Shaft Thomas Winch LT95 bottom mount

    Hi All,

Does anyone know if you can still buy the Perentie style PTO shaft linkage for the Thomas ADF winch? The perentie I recently picked up has the winch but I stupidly forgot to check for the shaft - it's not there. Have searched the Internet high and low to no avail. I presume they are out there it's just knowing how to get one!

    Cheers,

    Matt

If the fittings for the shafts are still on the gearbox and winch and only the shafting is missing it should be a fairly straighfoward matter to make, or have made for you, the shafts with appropriate unis.

If more is missing then you might need to keep an eye on all the for sale sites, e.g http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/woree...eps/1025947098.

The shaft is available from engineering steel suppliers, the bearing blocks and uni-joints are available from engineering suppliers like Blackwoods.

All you need is to cut to length, machine in the keyway and make up the brackets onto the chassis.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

If you don't have the PTO bottom drive sit down for the price, the last one I purchased cost almost $3,000

I'll need to check on the weekend whether it still has the drive or not ( PTO's are new to me). At 3k if it doesn't have it it'll have to stay that way!
I'll try to take some photos while I'm at it. Otherwise thanks everyone for info on getting the shafts made up.

Look for a company called Powauto, they took over supply of the shafts/unis/bearing blocks for Thomas stuff a long while ago. I sourced complete set of shafts/unis/bearing for a S2a Thomas setup but it was a number of years ago but I know they are still in business.

That is a winch off a Series Land Rover the PTO is useless for a LT95.

It could even be an ex-Army SIIa/SIII Bamford winch.
