Help! TD5 oddness after water crossing

I did a short water crossing earlier (to get to Pebbly Beach camp ground in Yuragir National Park) it started off nice ad easy but for a few secods the water was over the bonnet.

After I parked my 03 Defender TD5 and set up camp I heard the fuel pump running for a few seconds.

About 5 minutes later the quiet was shattered by my horn sounding continuously. I managed to silence the horn by turning the ignition and firing up the engine.

However, the fuel pump keeps running of its own accord.

I've had a look at the ECU etc under the driver's seat and it all looks okay and dry in there.

What else should I be looking for? Will it rectify itself (ie dry out)?

This is my final night's camping in what has currently been a 5900km tour of Oodnadatta Track, Strzelecki Track, Coober Pedy, Corner Country and the Flinders Ranges. I don't want it to all end on a sour note since I am camped in a location only accessible during low tide!

I'll be using my water bra on the way back over!

Everything under the drivers seat looks as dry and dusty as it always did.

I've left the whole thing open for now to let it all air out (should it needing to be aired out be part of the problem)

Fuse/Relay box in the engine bay next to your coolant header tank.

    EDIT: was thinking disco

Anyway, yeah could be slight bit of moisture, you know the fuel pump is playing up so pull the relay for that out & check & also horn

Awesome, thanks. It seems to have quietened down for now and it all looks dry in the engine bay now after being given a couple of hours.

I'll have another look during daylight tomorrow.

    Cheers!

    Update.

Everything seems to have sorted /dried itself out - no problems this morning.

I spoke to one of the locals before going back across the creek this afternoon and he showed me the best way to go through. When I explained the way I went the previous day (with advice from others) he said "Ah, no mate. If you go in a straight line you'll find it gets very deep in the middle."

Basically, I forgot the golden rule of water crossings - wait for someone else to do it first and watch them.
