Noisy Diesel engines,, and why?

Thanks Dan,, she is pretty quiet when the speeds up. I might try and take a bit more notice of timing/noises/speeds etc, and see if with my really switched on brain (:eek:) if I can correlate any of this info. :D

ALSO CONSIDER A WORN IDLER PULLEY OR IN MY CASE STEERING PUMP BEARING.
this makes engine considerably noisier.

I am using MINUS 30 aircon gas and this has also made aircon compressor noticeably quieter.

Plus with the 1 degree of IP pump advance my beast is a lot less noisy these days :)
