    Try double shuffling into 4th.

That information is not good - good luck with it - one of the reasons I stay with engine oil - it is simple and it works.

Yeah, been double clutching and getting it easy, but the syncro is shagged. Once it's rebuilt, no one will be going near it again with gear oil...

Glad to hear you got home safely Gav, without the need for a tilt tray.
I hope there's not too much damage when you inspect the 'box.

Been reading all the threads on rebuilding the box, which seems within my capabilities, but I've yet to find details of the TRB kit - what is in the kit, where to get one and how much they are, how to fit it.

    Anyone know the answers?

You're welcome to borrow my little compact puller and press if you like. It was invaluable doing my rebuilds.

Thanks heaps for the offer mate, distance would be a bit of a problem though as you mentioned. I've had a similar offer from a more local member which should work out ok I think. Just have to wait a couple of months.

    Gotta love this forum.
