One of our good fellow members is going to call him in the morning after he sends some photos in the hope of bypassing the after market immobiliser![]()
Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......
It is an after market Immobiliser I already established that when he told me his key Fob had a light on it.....His a good bloke just not real savvy with cars. I think it may be an after market immobilizer
He is travelling with my mate Dean...
I will merge our threads as it appears we are talking about the same person

I understand that this car has an aftermarket immobiliser (like most of my cheap cars in the late 90's, and they are not fun to work with).
I have consequentually removed my aftermarket system from my Disco almost a year ago as they are more hassle than they are worth with my limited experience. A bike lock looped around the brake pedal and steering wheel is much more effective deterent :-)
Right back on track, and relating this to the flashing indicator's during this defect, this recently happened to me when I was at Cape York, and to rectify it I simply removed the central locking fuse, and all was good again.
Probly won't help, but it is worth my time to share :-)
Cheers, Adam
pics would be good.its only a 300 tdi, shouldnt take much to hotwire and get going.I would think an auto elec would be better than a mechanic for this.there are a couple of mobile sparkies in darwin,i have used patchys with success in the past
