Resetting Airbag Warning Light?

Someone here who knows how to reset the SRS warning light in the speedometer? After the incident on Saturay (see yarns & tales forum) I had the steering realigned and had to reposition the steering wheel. Since then the stupid warning light is driving me nuts.
Any suggestions?

Cheers

Test book?(dealer)

With the alignment (assuming its a Disco or Rangie or Defender) you didnt say??
You should not remove and turn steering wheel as this puts box off centre and into looser part of shaft.
To centre wheel adj 1st motion arm (tie rod) from box to wheel.

According to the Haynes manual a steering wheel offset of more than 5° should be remedied by taking off the wheel and repositioning it on the column. Offset less than 5° should be compensated by adjustment on the drag link.
I definitely had more than 5° offset

I know the dealerships have testbooks but... the next dealership is about 150 km from where I live, dealerships are highly expensive, charging big money for dubious jobs and, at least in our part of the world, franchised dealers can only be described as arrogant and incompetent.

If this vehicle is not following you to AUST.mite I suggest a large piece of black insulating tape stuck over the offending warning light!!!!

Wow, Ferno, this actually works! Great stuff! No need for a toolbox anymore!
No really, I won't bother too much about this before our imminent departure.

See you soon!

Hey Ferno... It's good to know that I'm not the only one who fixes warning lights that way!

I've had tape over my fuel warning light for ages - it comes on when I've driven about 10km's from a full fill and stays on. Black tape - problem solved. I didn't even have to get dirty!

Must remember to add a roll of black tape and some duct tape to the bush mechanics tool kit to go alongside the baling twine, chewing gum, fencing wire and pliers,oh and for the longer jobs a hot six pack!!!!

8) jojo, i wouldn't normally say this, but you could put in a blown globe,
however when it crashes and the coroner finds the warning system has been tampered with, could you live with it, and the estate [of the deceased] sues for your 'whatever you got'?
just tell'em it ain't working or fix it.
honesty's the best policy.

Hmmm, methinks double standards there harry, first you tell him to put a dodgey globe in , then you give him the guilt trip thingey on doing the wrong thing!!which side of the fence you sittin' on there harry :? :?:
All jokes aside, it was all said in jest, safety equipment is there for a reason, and if its broke ,fix it ,somehow (where's that black tape gone? )
