I used vst tape when I replaced the glass in my windscreen. VST Tapes
It's an incredibly strong bond and I haven't had any water ingress like I did before I changed it :) I took the windscreen out when I did mine.

I know this does not help, but it occurs to me that almost all the screens they handle have radiused corners - the Series ones don't, making them much more easily damaged by mishandling!

I took a piece of the original glass into the supplier for them to copy, I made sure that they knew to reverse one piece and to get the kite marks in the same location on both pieces :)
I paid $55 for each piece of glass and I got free samples of the tape from the owner of the factory. I also cleaned the windscreen frame and applied a clear coat of laquer, I spray painted all the beads and used new stainless screws.
It's a treat to look through "clear glass" :D
