I tried a couple of these about 20 years ago but didn't like them. Their switching transistors and heat sinking are tiny so they can't possibly handle high output coils without exploding. From memory they worked better if the positive was run to a better 12V source than a resistor fed coil, so a new wire from the ignition switch may help. The Crane XR700 was a much better piece of kit with a large external ignition module. In any case I gave up points conversions as a dead loss and went to full electronic high energy distributor conversions instead. Mucho zappier.

I used Lumenition swap in kits for years in Rovers and Minis and they were very reliable. But I've now changed to Scorcher from Performance Ignition Services with their custom advance curves and generic Bosch parts. Not that cheap but they are a fit and forget exercise.

I like the look of this: HEI Land Range Rover V8 Upgrade TO GM Distributor NEW | eBay

Heaps of parts available for these. There are a couple of threads here on making your own as well.
At any given point in time, somewhere in the world someone is working on a Land-Rover.

well so far I have used 3 types of ignition,
    1. electronic dizzy with the bosch module
    2. pertronix upgrade system (didn't work at all)
    3. points with normal coil

TBH the best so far is the points, I love em, easy, basic and pretty sure original for my rig,
