See if you can save yourself some money its off the road anyway.
Pull the rocker covers then the valley then timing cover as a start it might be more simple than you think.
Might be as simple as a new cam and lifters put the right ones in and you will get better performance as well.

rockers, manifold, carb are off I have a new cam and lifters for my old engine as that was the plan run this one while I rebuild mine my main cost is gaskets atm I have to get a whole new set of vrs I am going to take heads and everything off now I have had enough I will basically rebuild both now
No broken tips off of the rockers?
I had this happen on a 3.5 V8
na bud no broken tips from what I have seen so far but I will get back in there soon, had to stop for a bit and do some house duties (vacuum, dishes and crap) cause mrs is like "you can't just spend your whole time doing the truck you have to help me as well" ironic cause I can't get her to swing a spanner even if her life depended on it and stopping to check my wanted ad for another engine
