I need to drive the car 60km to get some work done on it before I can get some end float shims. Is this ok or might it damage CV? The end float is about 1mm too much.

Keep a close eye on that hub mate
In all my time playing with landy hubs / wheel bearings (and there has been a lot)
There has never been any appreciable or measurable difference in bearing/race tolerances across what would now be 36 years.
The reality is bearings are made to ridiculous tolerances and match dimensions very very closely.
A new set being 0.1mm (that is a metric **** tonne in machining) different to old set of the same part number is essentially impossible...
Now stub axle wear, inner hub wear that is always on the cards!
Hmm ok - will do.
But even measuring the wall height of the races - they seemed to be slightly different. The new ones taller.
But that doesnt mean the bearing location is likewise different I guess.
Will monitor closely thanks.
