Yeah, I think it's much safer just to spend the extra $300 and get a non VNT GT2056..

300Tdi...
I plan to throw about 26-28psi at it with fuel to suit (with all the supporting mods like intercooler, exhaust, 200Tdi manifold, tightened head bolt, etc) and see how it goes, I'm not too concerned if it goes pop, as it's just an excuse to rebuild it, but obviously the longer it lasts the better..
what about this? it's the smaller 52, but it's got the .46 housing..

GT2056 with the 0.46 A/R turbine is good for a clean and safe 150kw on a 2.5tdi.
That's 31psi boost at 4000rpm, approx 90cc/1000 shots of diesel and an intercooler that can shed about 16kw of heat.
This is a complete match, turbine, compressor and wastegate. EGT around 740C (preturbo), A/F ratio 18:1. Turbine drive pressure around 38psi.
At 2000rpm it'll give you 18psi boost (limited by surge on the compressor) which is ~330Nm. At this point your turbine drive pressure will be a shade under your boost, your A/F ratio is almost 21:1 which keeps EGT here to well under 700C.
Next step up is the Garrett GT2259 (hino version) with the 0.47 A/R turbine. More power from that one, but you'll lose some bottom end torque.
Holset HE211 could be an option. But I haven't mapped that one out for anything yet. Information is scarce.
