Check the turbo hoses for delamination or holes, Regards Frank
Hope to get advice, I have a Disco S1 and have an issue I think is turbo related. When motor is hot and under load when revs reach 2700. There is a motor miss and it wont rev any further, free reving it will keep going. This does not happen when the motor is cool or under cooler conditions. Cheers,

Thanks , will look at those. forgot to mention in first thread that its a TDI no motor modifications. Could also be a fuel starvation issue as my mechanic advised. I have checked both the fuel filter (in the engine bay) and also the sedimenter(?) located inside the chassis rail near the rear rh wheel. Both were very clean given I've never checked them in 8 or so years. (mechanics may have). Will now check the hoses again but mechanic had a quick look around the injector pump and noted no obvious leaks or weeping. Still chasing up on the issue and if its a easy fix or it the vehicle is mothballed before something serious breaks. also still would like to hear any ideas. Thanks. Discoross
Have now checked turbo hoses, all OK they are braided hoses (x2) that I could see. Missing (or fuel starvation) is getting worse. I'm starting to think about the injector pump. as its getting worse and and lower and lower revs. Does anyone have any ideas? Thank you. Discoross.
I would also check fuel. Change the filters and look for any signs of a leaking or worn hose that may let air in.
Check the small plastic hose from the turbo, it travels around behind the head to to back/top of the injector pump, it is the turbo pressure line that controls the fuel delivery to compensate for the boost level from the turbo. Pull it off from the turbo end and blow into it to see if it is holding pressure. If you can blow easily through it, either the hose has a hole/leak or the rubber diaphragm in the injector boost comp. body is leaking.
BTW there are 3 turbo hoses you need to check, 1 off the turbo (a bend), 2 a short straight piece into the bottom of the intercooler, 3 from the top of the intercooler to the manifold, you need to remove these turbo hoses to inspect, especially on the inside and they need to squashed to see if any holes or delaminations, can't be done on the vehicle, good luck, Regards Frank.
no didnt remove , just visuel check. Im curious now as to why everything is fine till temp guage reaches normal operating temp. Then the issue starts. Thats why im thinking the injector pump. Any more ideas PLEASE ?
Try putting a piece of clear tubing into the fuel line just prior to the injection pump, then run the engine and check for air bubbles. It possibly is pulling air into the fuel system somewhere.
