thanks for the responses guys. Thanks to Bacicat the problem is solved

Seems the power wire became dislodged and went back inside the headlight assembly. Impossible to see it in there as I couldn't get the light right out due to my bullbar.

    Anyway all is good now.

Just one other comment regarding whether the upgrade is a good idea or not. I appreciate that the warm up time is a minor problem, fact is that in my case i have a very good set of LED driving lights which also come on with high beam..... they are instant and so the small delay with the head lights isn't a major issue to me.

Haven't heard anything about these but if my LED driving lights are anything to go by they'll be good. Only issue I have with the LED's is that they seem to lack the penetration (distance) of halogen or HID. Be very interesting to see what these are like in that regard.

No Phil, I decided to upgrade the high beams first. Was a bit of a pain when I flicked on the highs and they threw a distinctively yellow light in comparison to my HID low beams.

think I'll see how they go, might still be looking at spotties like yours in the future though.

As a truck driver i HATE both hid, and led, headlight upgrades on low beam (almost as bad as stupid fog lights) as there is just too much light coming at you too often at night, and can get tiring. In driving lights they are fine.
    Just my 2c worth.

As an older CAR and bus driver... I loathe and detest them, especially when mis-aligned or even switched on in broad daylight.
    - Don't even ask what I think of them at night, especially in wet weather.......

Normal halogens on low beam give you quite enough light, a good balance between seeing and being seen - without dazzling oncoming traffic. Or blinding and distracting yourself from roadsign reflections...

Don't care what you do with Hi-beam and/or spotlights, the more the merrier.

Want to double your light output? - wipe the dust off the headlights. Cheapest upgrade ever .

All I can say to the last two responses to this thread is:

You better get used to it!

During the next 3-5 years EVERY new vehicle on our roads will have either HID or LED lighting (or a combination) and by EVERY vehicle I also include buses and trucks. Simple matter is they are more efficient and give better vision.

You should get out of the paddock, and back onto the road.

Not so clever me thinks to blind oncoming traffic. S'pose we could all just start wearing sunnies at night.
