X2, Consistant readings are more important than absolute accuracy, especially in the important 'on road' range.
Just as important is dial clarity and readability, especially under low light. One that locks the pointer makes life easier. How it sits in the hand and seals to the valve is important too. - No good having a perfect gauge that's unpleasant to use... :o
I used to have a MICHELIN brand gauge, neat little bakelite thing. Best 'feel' of any I've ever used. Was barely 2psi out at 36 (actual 37.8) which was fantastic considering the abuse it suffered. Dunno where it is now.... :(:(:(
Edit:- Just remembered, it was a "Vigil" brand (Made in France), as 'recommended' by Michelin, when I bought some xzx tyres.

This is the one I use:
Michelin Programmable Digital Tyre Pressure Gauge | lovetyres.com
God knows if it's accurate as I don't know if the gauges I have checked it against are accurate.
I think the only way to check it is accurate is with head of water. Get a bloody long pipe. Run it up a big hill to a known height and check the pressure at the bottom. As long as you take into account atmospheric pressure that should be the best way to check.
I think I paid about $30 - $40 delivered from Amazon.
I read a detailed text on the difference of Analogue and Digital at the time of purchase and if I remember correctly as long as you get a good quality digital it will be as almost as good at the most expensive analogue gauge.
Anyway, good luck. That's my choice and I'm happy with it but I'll be following this thread to others opinions and why they made the choices they have.
Happy Days

Many thanks for the replies guys.
I'm looking for consistency as you all pointed out, but the correct reading would be a positive as well.
I've set my Staunt pressure valves to what I thought was 15psi as per my gauge but I find in the sand its a bit too much still so I drop them down further - check the gauge - 10psi (thats very low from my understanding - almost dangerous - but its not). I connect the compressor when going home and its at 20psi.
something fairly accurate but not spot on would be good if you know what i mean...
