Yeah, turbo off and then oil cooler off, I can do it in about 40 minutes and I am no genius.
If the head is off, then the turbo is already off so yes, will save a bit of time.
I would check the oil cooler as a matter of course. I plan on doing mine as a yearly on major inspection form now on, had 3 discos now with same oil cooler issue and another sitting here that hasn't been looked at yet, so will wait and see on that one.

I think also that it's headgasket, did they put steel or plastic guides??? my D2 had same symptoms and head was moved, one plastic guide was broke and other just moved.. Steel ones is to go :)
In the end - the head was warped "slightly". I never found out how much exactly, but they gave it new valve guides, inlet valves and all those things. New gasket, back together and everything was fine.
The head gasket they took off looked perfect :o
