It is just on 5 months since I gassed up my custom AC unit with HyChill-30 It is a 32000 BTU unit with fairly long hoses and took 300 g of HyChill-30 The pressures were 25/175 psi and the temp off the evaporator 6.1 c The pressure in 123rover50 s system being slightly higher may be due to the extra gas ?My system works very well with temps in the thirties the passenger window fully down the dog acting as a turning vane the 110 still comfortableHychill-30

With the fan on high these are the operating pressures at a fast idle.
With the fan on 2 the unit actually got cold enough to cycle. Its never done that before.
Still a few bubbles in the sight glass but thats OK.
pressures not to bad but what is ambient temp?

That was last summer nearly 12 months ago.
Sitting in the shed it was pretty hot with no breeze.
Car is our 92 RR Sherwood.
Still cooling well this summer too.
Just about to do the 92 200tdi Disco as well but have to get the wiring finished to the RedDot on the roof.

... and I'll be up for a HyChill here is sunny Perth. Not the Rangey..that's now up on blocks (figuratively speaking) as I've been handed - down my son's old Mazda 323 / 1.8 FOUR cylinder,,,,, and 7.3 litres per 100km is much more bearable than Sarah's 20 l/100km guzzling.

That's nearly half an hour's flying lesson every week, and I'll soon save enough to fix it's luke-warm 134a system.

I hope so... the Classic's A/c is still working, but not as cold as I'd expect... and I don't want 134a back in there.

A "roving bush" tractor mechanic I know does a lot of emergency header etc. repairs this time of year.

Nearly always accompanied by a complaint the machine A/C is not cold enough, can you do something??

His solution is to release a dose of LPG into the suction side of the system resulting in a happy plant driver in cool comfort.

I think he might service a few car/wagon A/C systems the same way.
Not debating the legality/morality of this, its just what he does.

What is a fact, he is a top breakdown mechanic, very much in demand and an "aw... fix me up later" attitude.
Should add this bloke is near 80, has been going to give it up for the last 20 years so he can spend more time fishing.

IIRC doesn't Burson Auto Parts sell Hychill/Care 30 equivalents in disposable cannisters?

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.
