Hi all!
The wiper motor on my Disco is giving up the ghost. It's not the motor itself, but the drivetrain that is giving trouble, i.e. the interval function and the homing in doesn't work any longer. I have already adjusted the copper laces and, whilst it did the trick for some years, now the time has come to replace the whole pack. Now, that's where the troubles start:
My truck is a LHD and the replacement unit is from a RHD vehicle. Not only the linkage, even the motor unit is a mirror image of the original. The drive axle also rotates into the opposite direction. Major disappointment... the straight swap turns out into a fiddly project.
So the question is: is there a way I possibly could change the direction of rotation in the replacement unit? There are five colour coded wires going in. Is it possible to reverse rotation by swapping two wires? If so, which ones?
Any other hints to solve the problem are greatly appreciated!
Grateful for any advice!
Cheers
