My Defender is running (unmodified) Disco rims. I'm sure you've seen pictures of it before. If not, it's in the gallery. Tyres are 255/85x16 BFG M/T.

Paul did you need to alter the bump stops to reduce the steering lock at all to run those rims and tyres ?
I did alter the steering lock stops because the inside edge of the tyres rubbed slightly on the front radius arms on full lock. It only took a couple of minutes with an open ended spanner. Bear in mind that my lock stops would have been set for the standard rims and narrow 7.50x16 tyres that were originally fitted. Even with 235/85 I would probably have had to make some ajustment.

Hi guys
just spent 6 months trying to **** out whether i could fit Disco rims on the 130, and after various and conflicting answers decided just to give it a go, off came the orginal rims and on went the disco steel rims, with 244x75x16 cooper Discoverer S/T's fitted a treat, now they rub a little on full stop, and i can adjust the lock stops to over come this, but decided to leave it, as only on full stop when going very slow and if i need it in the bush (3 point turn on a narrow track in a 130 -almost impossible) left them be.
Very pleased with the set up.
Now i agree the orginal wheels are stronger, then are also tubed wheels, and after numerous experiences with flat tyres after a trip down the beach ( let the tyres down and sand gets into the trye and wears the tube out) decided that tubeless were a must.
The disco steel rims i picked up from my local tyre dealer who had fitted a set of alloys and then had these for if i rememder correctly for 3 years but were as good as new, these only cost me $200.00 for all 4 and now have 2 sets of tyres plus 2 spares, gee too many tyres, but can never have enough.
hope this helps, just remember everywhere i went including my LR dealer, tyre/wheel dealer did not know that the 110 and 130 had different offsets, and as a rule they only listed the defender and not the 90, 100 and 130 seperately.
Good luck
Paul
Thanks for all the advice peoples.
I have got my hands on total of 6 steel Disco rims and they are off to the powdercoaters (they have to be white!).
Once I get the tyres changed over, and put them on the truck, I might even take me a pitcha. :!: 8)
(Won't be ready for the weekend though, Incy, so you'll get to check out the 'before' version)
