Wheel Nuts

Well I've had them fitted up and the nuts and studs are flush.

And the Disco wheels look fan-bloody-tastic on the Defender too, just quietly. [img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif[/img]

I just had another look at my nuts and virtually level (can't see any exposed thread) with end of the stud (it is painfull though) :wink:

The pic to me looks like a different colour metal behind the nut, like some sort of cup washer, on mine, nut just flush on steel rim, I'll try and get a digital camera.....? Maybe I should get new reading glasses but looks quite different compared to your pic. 8O :?: :?:

The shiny silver stuff you can see is just some nickel antisieze compound that's squeezed out as they were tightened up. There's definitely no washers or anything on the studs. I've read before that the studs are a bit short with Disco rims fitted to Defenders. Maybe there's a change in stud length at some stage with different age Defenders. Mine's an old bugga, built Nov 92.

That makes sense, when you relook at pic. Mines 1997 so I guess a change was made somewhere down the track. 8)

One alternative to painting the nuts is to use the 35mm film packaging.

Go to your nearest camera shop and I am sure they will be greatful to get rid of atleast 20 or so.

You'll need to shorten them - but look good once done.
