Cheers Eddy,
I have no problems with the pump at the moment. I just want to be prepared for the inevitable.
Thanks again,
Ian.

Here's an idea- get a disco and they come standard:D. Way more comfy than a defer to boot ;). Oh and they don't leak either :wasntme::angel:
I've been using 2T oil in my car in 1:200 for the last 60k km with no issues at all, have kept my fuel pump in shape, I think...
Jono, just a minor point the td5 pump gets it's earth from the transfercase earth point on the Drivers side. If this fails or come loose your pump stops working, your indicator is dodgy. Might be worth a heck before pulling things apart.
Toad.
Just out of interest, Did you use mineral based 2-stroke?
There are known issues of oil seperation when using synthetic 2 stroke and perhaps your pump got clogged with a blob of 2 stroke
