Use your 15mm ring and then get a long socket extension or bar of some sort and lever the end on the spanner up.

Ranga, a 15mm socket and a breaker bar, easy and you don't need to strain your poopa valve, Regards Frank.

Pretty sure that won't fit on a Deefer Frank, that's why we all use a ring spanner with minimal offset, oh, and some use an extra lever !

You're all pretty much on the money. Sockets won't fit, my arms are too short, my knuckles are too tender, pipe has worked before but needs too big ID to fit over the spanner, normal size 15mm isn't strong enough (I'm sure it can't be me!).

Might try and find a cheapie at Repco/SCA.

    or

    1. come and borrow mine,
    2. bring a 15mm roe with you and we'll technically adjust it till you can use it (im thinking some big U shape that comes up till it clears the wing, comes across over the guard and then has a drop down handle so you can reach it)
    3. I'll see what my local tool nutters have on hand they had a set of loose long handles in at queensland diesel spares when I last went in and bought oil

Didn't realise (until Rick pointed it out) that yours is different to mine, won't go there, eh.
Ranga you can buy individual long (600mm+) flat (no offset) ring spanners, can also get them in a set, Regards Frank.

I bought one for my 3.9 snaky engine. Best $30 I've spent on a tool. Made it so easy and controllable. Makes changing the belt a pleasure instead of a pain.

The huge reduction in effort might well make a set a worthwhile proposition.
