P38

    G'day

Actually the P38 was the Lockheed P38 Lightning.

It featured two Alison V12 engines and was one of the fastest and highest flying fighters of WWII.

I prefer its British cousin, the Mosquito though. It had two supercharged Rolls Royce Merlin V12s and was even more versatile. And the sound!!!!! Just the engines for a Range Rover.

    P38

I am sure I read somewhere, maybe in a LROI mag recently that the P38 was actually the part number for a Defender Axle, now what the heck that has to do with a RR, who knows? I also think that P38 is the part number for the combination can opener/spoon that is issued in Army Ration packs in the Oz defence force!!
    Useless info really.

I've not seen many of those with winches and snorkelled.

Definitely tweed jacket and polo.

Maybe there are enough of them around after a civilised life to be taken from the pasture and shown some country.

    Any reason why not?
