I know nothing!

I understand that the P38A refers to the project no. and building in which the New Range Rover (as it was called) was developed. But it may just be the project code.

Most of us on the various internet fora refer to them as P38A as it is easier than saying RR series 2 (never an official name).

It featured two Alison V12 engines and was one of the fastest and highest flying fighters of WWII.

I prefer its British cousin, the Mosquito though. It had two supercharged Rolls Royce Merlin V12s and was even more versatile. And the sound!!!!! Just the engines for a Range Rover.

Yes, the Mustang changed from the Allison to the Merlin engine purely because they sounded better :!: (Well, not really, but it makes a good story). They allowed increased speed and performance at altitude.

Mosquitos were made of wood as well, which meant that if you got shot you just had to climb out on the wing with a hammer and nails and...

Alright, I'm just being silly now. 8)

another Michael.
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

Maybe there are enough of them around after a civilised life to be taken from the pasture and shown some country.

Any reason why not?

Whiping one out of my pocket (don't ask!) and we see:

NSN: 7330-66-010-0931 < FC > 1991 /|

AKA

FRED (Farqin' Ridicoolus Eatin' Device)

Never heard of them called a "P-38" but that's not to say that in some circles it's not known that way.

NOW who has useless Info!!!!

Or it could be a Walther P38 semiauto pistol that you need, when bad things start going wrong with a Landrover and you need to put yourself out of missery.

the 2nd generation rangie was called the project 38A after the shed it was developed in.
it is now refered to [by the landy mags and myself] as the 38A.
the first i heard the title P38 was from a friend in sa very recently.
i'll search out the landy mag that mentions this.
