will 15x31x10.5 muddies fit with 2" lift
what happens at 3"
The golden rule applies to spring lift and the geometries of the driveline.
A 3" lift adverslyaffects the castor angle of the front wheels. It starts to make the steering vague at 2". The angle on the rear drive shaft relative to the pinion on the rear diff can put more strain on the rubber doughnut come universal causing premature failure of this bit.
This lift does not apply to tyre diameter. I don't think that 31's will be too much of a problem in terms of rubbing on the body work. It is particularly pertinant to the rear.
Body lift and guard cutting is another dimension.
Others can talk about this aspect as I still run with stock 29.5" wheel/tyre diameters.
There is some good oil on discoweb.org.

Ex 300Tdi Disco:
2 inch is the norm with out having to modify any other parts.
Over 2inch and you have to start looking at the castor angles drive shaft angles and everything else.
As to how high a disco can go, well I have seen a 7inch lift with 38's underneth, but a lot of cutting on the body and a lot of mony went into it.

I had 31's on my disco with 2 inch lift and had no probles at all

ops: ment to be about 4.5" I think the springs of that disco are the same as the ones currently under my Rangie
I tell you this your drivelines wont last long I think 4" with cranked radius arms is the highest possible option - with this you should fit 33s and with some cutting of the guard you should fit 33s on hevily offset rims.
You can put 31s on a standard rangie and my uncle had 31s under his standard disco but they rubbed abit
I rule!!!
2.4" of Pure FURY!!!

Just remember the higher you go the more strain you will put on everything.Originally posted by casterbased

So things will wear out a lot faster even just daily driving.
This is mine with only 2 inch lift in the springs and a 1 1/2 inch spacer under the rear.
does me well and not a thing has worn out yet.
