If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.
Just buy a new gasket or seal!
I always worry about things that are designed to stop up a leak.... they usually stop up in other areas as well.... such as oil galleries. Some of these galleries are pretty small, make them smaller and you're looking at some very exy trouble compared to fixing the leak properly.

Softening seals is as simple as pouring in brake fluid!
It doesn't help that it is breaking the material down to make it softer.
Avoid - fit new seals or gaskets
Ive used it and like all of them...
its a "just to get it to the next service" and then replace ALL the seals.
usually winds up in one of 2 ways
1
used it in older engines because of a leaking front seal or rocker cover gasket, done a couple of oil changes and then had the rear main that was replaced with the clutch only 30K Km ago start to leak because the material has fallen apart.
2. used it in something, changed the oil and then the seal "dries" out again and leaks worse than before along with another seal that decided to start leaking in sympathy.

I'm interested in sourcing a product that cleans oil from the cooling system, a quick google search led me here but the discussion here is of course on an easier solution in mitigating engine oil leaks. I'm a big advocate in replacing the offending leaky seals. Best mitigation plan ever. I've had new-ish seals leak, hook them out, cant see a thing wrong with them, instal a new one and job done. Perhaps the spring tension is lost on the chevron type seals.
On the different note that led me here, I have a vehicle that busted a trans oil cooler and dumped lots of that oil into the cooling system and i'm talking major syrup infestation.
Interested in any methods to emulsify the oil sludge. Exactly what the liquid iintelligence claims are, i could also smell snake-oil so i thought i'd ask the question.
Cheers, Danny
