Range Rover Classic LT95 Gearbox / Difflock questions

Greetings from South Africa and Thanks for the Information I have been finding here. I am Re Building a Rangy Classic (SA assembled CKD 1979 2-door one)..So far all is well...I would like to find an exploded drawing of the LT 95 4 speed box if possible. I have mine in Pieces waiting for new Syncro units and bearings etc. I have a circlip and/or a spacer washer missing off the rear of the secondary shaft just aft of the reverse gear idler. Would like to see whats supposed to be there. On mine, the circlip broke allowing that shaft to run against the alloy casing...not good! I think this was the reason it would jump out of Third Gear in HI range on over run...IE if you allow it to idle in third....it crunched out of third to a neutral.....also I know that weak detent springs can allow this.

ALSO....does anyone know if its easy (ish) to convert the Vacum Diff Lock selector unit to a lever? and OR if that vacum unit can be serviced at all?

    Thanks Cameron

    Welcome to Aulro Cameron.

I'm not sure if the parts diagram is available online, but it would definitely be on one of the CD's in the Aulro shop here.
I'd suggest you get a copy of the overhaul manual for the gearbox as there are preloads and clearances to set up when you put it back together.
There are also a couple of fixes for common issues like the oil migration between g'box and transfer.

We used to be able to buy replacement diaphragms locally here for the CDL actuator, but unfortunately no longer available.
Internally its pretty simple, just a shaft with a diaphragm on one end and the selector fork on the other. In my experience its just the diaphragm that fails. You can open up the vacuum can by gently levering the folded section of can open to allow the outer half to be removed.

To convert to manual actuation you'd just need to cut away the vacuum can, and fabricate some sort of a mechanism to move the shaft in and out.
Have a look here for some ideas: http://www.aulro.com/afvb/good-oil/1...rkarounds.html.
