Thread: TD5 fuel leak near pump

One of the lines has rubbed through - not uncommon - do a search on here and you'll find plenty of info on the problem and fix.

Hi thanks looks like it could be fuel line is it easy to replace.
There is four pipes going to the fuel pump not sure what they all do and which one feeds the fuel to engine

They come as a set of 4 and you have to remove the tank to fit them . It comes down on an angle to the left and its usually swelled a bit bigger than the aperture between the chassis rails so takes a bit of shoving. straight forward just a bit messy and fiddly .

I dunno, but I have rubbed through the green pipe three times, and been able to buy it separately.

No need to remove the tank, just lower it on it's straps and you can poke the new pipe in to place. I have wrapped mine in heater hose so it won't rub through again.

Just be carful if you don't fully remove and clean all the dirt and blue metal that may be up there you don't want to push the tank up against any crap and cause any other rub spots.
