Yeah I did, mainly to see if there were other gremlins at play. And yes, fine with the Z9. Was taking 10-15 seconds with the LF3376 if left sit for more than 3 hrs or so. Less if time left sitting was shorter.
10-15 seconds is more than a bit too long in my books. After initial startup with new (dry) filter maybe, but not if left sit for only half a day.
Talked to a long time (and now ex) Cummins employee today, he can't recall having any issues with Fleetguard filters in his time with them.

A question for the filter gurus.
My mate has a Nissan TDi 4.2 (2004 GU) which has two side ways mounted Z503's. He uses Z9's and says the difference is that the Z9's are bypassed internally whereas the Z503's are not. Is this a problem ? He's very pedantic about maintenance and changes oil and filters at 5K intervals.

Not a problem.
I used to use a P169071 Donaldson or LF3487 Fleetguard on the ex's TD42T that used one full flow and one combination filter (Full flow and by-pass elements in the same can. I used a genuine Nissan filter)
I used these filters for near ten years and used oil test results were excellent.
These are the syn media version equivalents to a Z9 spec filter.
early patrol 4.2 use Z115 or Z160 depending on use.
late model is 15208-43G00/15208-43G0A that converts to a Z115.
What has changed that the catalogue spec Z503? the engine hasn't changed.
-43G00 had reputation of indicating low oil pressure on some vehicles and dealer FIX was to supply GUD made L20B filters--Z115 painted blue or Z9.
I have an early GU 4.2D and I run a pair of Z9's with no issues. Saves about $20 per oil change. I believe later engines used two different filters.
