Hi Pat,
Why wouldn't a Tdi pull 6th in a MT82? It's almost the same ratio as 5th in a R380.
0.742:1 MT82
0.770:1 R380
Tony
It's similar ratio but would the Tdi pull away easy from 2000rpm at 100km/hr,I don't think it would. Pat

Sorry for hurting your ego there mate.If you want to this type of thing because it is a hobby or interest go for it,but spending big coin on a 15+ year old vehicle because you want a modern gearbox or motor is silly. Pat

That you take this all too seriously. The R380 is fine because I say so and I'm on the internet. In fact all Land Rover boxes are fine, certainly better than those weak diffs they put in the back of a Puma eh?

I don't take it seriously until a newby comes on here looking for advice and all the chest beaters bag out everything other than tired old Isuzu's countys. Pat

It wouldn't be doing 2000 rpm at 100 kph.
It would be doing the same 2500 that it does with the R380 (well 2419 rpm according to the Ashcroft calculator).
