Found the table for the back of the disco !!!

Now I just have to find some of those hinges and fittings, any ideas ?

i would make that shelf out of alumunium chequer plate.
with the chequer face out when closed and smooth surface on top when open.
with either four hinges along the bottom onto the door or one piano hinge.
the hinges can be pop riveted to the shelf.

you can even fix a pocket (similar to the original one on tailgate) again hinged , so it will always hang upright whether the shelf is up or down.

shelf can be supported by stainless steel cable in plastic tubing.

this should be just as strong as the one in the photo.
