    2.2Lv/s 2.4L in the Pumas?

Hi, just wondering if there's much difference between the two ford engines when out there on the road?, The 2.2 l on spec should go better than the Tdi 300 motor, but do They?.. sounds. a little engine for a deefer ,its the way it all going I surpose. ..Anyone running a 2.2l?

    Cheers Sumo.

By all reports the 2.2 is a smoother gruntier engine than the 2.4..................and due to all the EU rules more economical, ie less fuel less CO2

and not so much prone to the rattling clutches, due to the smoother engine.

However, it is not easy to remap a 2.2 - you need a spare ECU.

    Hi

    I just purchased a 2nd hand 130 with the 2.2.

I too was worried about the size of the engine vs the size of the car.

Really it performs quite well, with only the smallest amount of lag, it is reasonably responsive and revs out quite well.

Its no powerhouse but it works better on the road than it should on paper.

I drove a 2005 4.2 6 cylinder NA 70 series land cruiser the other day and the newer ford engine is superior in almost every way, bar off idle torque.
