Thread: Alloy wing protectors for Defender

my checker plate is only 1mm thick so it aint any good for standing on. (found out the hard way) i thing you will need bout 2.5 to hold upto 70kg. oh but they are good for sitting on and for a table. as for installing them, well i didnt do it but it does look simple.

Mine's 2mm. I'll see what it feels like when fitted.

Without realising it I bought a set from the stealer. Poisionously exxy compared to Graeme Cooper etc. But there ya go. Maybe it's in the thickness ... plate not me, but these you can definitely stand on ... all wafer thin 100kg of moi.

Fitted them myself. Drilling holes is certainly an exercise in character building. But not really difficult.

Be cheaper making them yourself out of scrap stuff from a metal yard.

Just fitted the passenger side. Started on the driver's side, then realised a 45mm hole needs to be cut to accomodate the stereo system aerial. I don't have any means of neatly doing that, so have to take it to a friend instead.

Seems strong enough to stand on, which is good. I have the ones that curve slightly over the front towards the headlights.

Do you know anyone that sells the 2.5 mm ones at good price

If you check back thru his posts Agrojnr has made some Ser3 items.He works at a laser cutters and was looking at doing Defender/Disco and Rangie stuff as well.
