From a legal point of view the law requires at least one muffler and resonator doesn't in 'their' view constitute a muffler. Again depends on where the vehicle is registered as to whether you'd get pinged doing such a modification.
From a performance point of view, wouldn't know. Swapping the resonator for a hot dog muffler could improve exhaust 'note' and would get you out of a corner with regard to the law. Having just the resonator could make exhaust 'note' woeful or wonderful too but wouldn't stand up in an altercation with the authorities.
One of those fiddle jobs when you aren't keeping the oils topped up I guess.

Hi Feral Disco
There is no way you could call our Trytoo loud,it wouldnt get pinged for a noisy exhaust,it just has a healthy growl under full load.
Have a chat to an exhaust shop with turbo diesel experience.
Free flowing really helps the turbo wind up quicker as its not having to try and pressurise the exhaust system as well as the inlet manifold.
