    Throttle failure

    Hi,

I need some guidance as to what might be wrong with my 2010 Defender.

I use the vehicle as a daily commuter and en route to work today when engaging 5th and/or 6th gear the accelerator would have no effect. By this I mean when I depressed the accelerator in 5th or 6th gear there was no response from the engine. As soon as I dropped into 4th or 3rd gear the accelerator would respond and the vehicle would continue on.

I have had fuel filter issues before but this doesn't present the same way as I had no go from the vehicle in any gear whereas today the issues seemed to only affect 5th and 6th gear. Although at times they would work!

Is this an electrical issue? Feedback/suggestions would be appreciated. I have contacted my dealership as I have the vehicle serviced regularly and last service was less than 2 months ago.

    Thanks in advance!

Do you have aftermarket cruise control fitted?? Have seem this happen as the cruise is wired into the throttle pedal and intermittently in 5th and 6th the readings for throttle angle and speed to engine ecu don't match what the computer wants to see due to bypass thru cruise ecu. Disconnect cruise control wiring and see how you go.

Thanks Greg but unfortunately not. Feedback from Landrover was "no idea"! Coming home she ran well but not a good feeling being on the motorway with no oomphf!
