I think I'll invest in the larger capacity sump for it?

I was in exactly the same scenario this time last year, had the box rebuilt, new bearings/seals,at the same time geared up with the 1.2 gear.Middle of the Simpson put in about a litre, from then on checked every few days topping up about 200mls.Buying a 1litre bottle with pump with a U shaped ally tube made the job easier.Have seen them in Supercheap.Actually sometimes it did not need topping up....probably on a bit of an angle?Back home it has remained up to level.
If I was heading off on a big trip I'd leave it alone. A weep is nothing to worry about. However pulling the box out could lead to other issues if even something small is done incorrectly.
Fix it when you get back if you need to.
Rebuilding the transfer case isn't too difficult - the biggest challenge for me was getting it off the vehicle and then back on. I ended up buying a long-throw trolley jack, and had a mate make up the mounting plate shown in the LR workshop manual - made it all a lot easier to manhandle. And buy some long bolts (M8 IIRC), cut their heads off, and you can fit them to the gearbox and use them to guide the t-box back on (cheaper than buying the offical LR tool - something like £30...).
hey there I would not worry about it, my 300 tdi defender has been leaking for about five years I check it every couple of thousand ks
.got 355,000 thousand on original motor, gear box and transfer case try and get a idea how many ks you do for the oil level to drop about 1/2 inch then check on that basis cheers
