Check the vacuum lines Matt, sounds like the one that locks it has come off the switch or has cracked.
I'm having some issues with the LT95 centre diff lock on my Perentie. The inidicator light no longer comes on when the diff lock switch is pulled. I'm fairly certain that the diff isn't locking either.
When i pull the switch i can hear the vacuum operate (air hissing sound), this continues endlessly - is this normal? I would have thought the vacuum would operate the actuator and then stop. Next stop is to start pulling hoses off to see if i have vacuum at the actuator. I'm not all that familiar with the vacuum units though - has anyone had a similar experience and can offer some advice on what to check? Is the switch itself a likely fail point on the Perentie?
Cheers,
Matt

Sounds like you have a vacuum leak. I don't know if the Perentie is exactly the same setup, but when I had that problem on my County, what had happened was that the live wire to the handbrake switch had shorted on the sharp seam on the RH end of the aircleaner (at a joiner) and the resulting heat had burnt through the hose to the actuator.
Follow the small diameter hose, probably branching off the vacuum line to the brake booster.

Sounds like a vacuum issue and not electrical.

Thanks guys, appreciate the quick feedback. Looks like the vacuum system will be getting a look over next weekend.
Hey,
The ones at work seem to mostly be a broken vacuum hose that is located under the air filter.
They seem to heat up and get brittle.
I think from memory that the vacuum pump then runs up behind the head (under the air filter) and there is a tee piece there. That is where most of ours go.
Will.
Is there any trick to getting the difflock pull switch off. Try as I might I can't get the damn thing off. I'm trying to get the switch out so I can get a better look. I've also noticed that the hissing sound is in both positions - just a different note so I'm starting to think it's probably the feed from the vacuum pipe that's stuffed as suggested above - would that make sense? It looks fine but hard to tell
Or the switch itself is stuffed. Can't remember whether the knob has a grub screw or whether you hold the shaft with long nosed pliers and unscrew the knob. Look for a grub screw or similar first and if nothing then try the unscrew trick. Undo that and you should be able to get it out. Check the line from the vac pump first, then the other two lines. If they are ok is has to be the switch.

Mine has a thread. Pull the switch and shaft has to flat sections to hold using long nose pliers as Bearman said.

Thanks guys - it's looking like it's the switch itself. I'm pretty sure it's an off the shelf pneumatic product just need to figure out where to get one. I'll post up the part number if I find it.
