Well, as leaded automotive petrol hasn't been available in Australia since 1st January 2002 - close on 3 years -, it shouldn't be a problem as you haven't run yours on leaded since around that time.

Hi I have an 86 county and have been told that running it on unleaded fuel is ok. It usually runs on leaded. Does anyone know if it is true that i can run it on unleaded? I put it on gas 12months ago and it runs good. How many times should i run it on petrol to lubricate the motor. Thanks Deano

Hi Deano
ULP shouldnt be a problem, you are using LPG anyhow. It is worth fitting a "Flashlube" uper cylinder lube kit.Should cost around $80 from supercrapp or similar. The Flashlube system is easier to use than the Moreys type, the flashlube is a thinner liquid and aesier to calibrate.
All you do is fit the bottle underbonnet and connect the delivery tube to a vacuum port in the base of the carby.

Hi, you havent been running you car on leaded since 2002 like P38arover said, you have been using LRP, which is normall unleaded with a teflon additive added, pretty much what flash lube is but added for you. I have a 79 RS 2000 Escort which I run on unleaded, but my mechanic has suggested i use Premium with a bit of Valve/flash lube every time I fill the tank, if you dont want to fit the kit like suggested above a few millilitres in the tank every time you fill up is cheaper in the short term, but it becomes a hassle having to add it every time you fill up. If the engine has been converted to gas, the heads should have been modified to take the gas, which should equip them to cope with the unleaded, but using the flash lube would be an exrta measure against valve problems. It shouldn't be a problem with your '86 County. I ran my '86 RR on LPG and/or ULP for years and never had any problems. I never used leaded or LRP.
