    Removing Tailgate inside door release

Wondering if anyone knows of the legalities of removing the inside door release handle from the tailgate.
Vehicle is a 95 disco 1 will most likely end up with vic rego. I posted it in here though cause it not disco1 specific as such.
My understanding is legally it has to remain there as it is a 5door vehicle the tailgate being the 5th door.
Anyone able to shed any light on the matter.

Don't exactly know the legalities but is it a 5 or 7 seater? If it is a 5 seater I don't think it would matter and anyway who is going to know?

The internal door release on my D2 is inaccessible due to my cargo drawers covering it.
    Dave.

I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."

I would be surprised if was a problem as that would make child locks on doors a problem too, as in both cases all you are doing is making the inside door handle inoperative

I have seen a drop down table on the back door that required the handle etc to be removed . But I have the back of my D1 set up for sleeping and use the inside handle to get out its easier than the side doors
