10.5 liters per 100km's in a TD4 Defender since I've owned it. That is from start to now - beach, rock, hill, mud, highway the lot. And it's been off-road for at least 35% of the km's travelled.

10-11l/100km.

The best has been 9l/100km.

On road, off road, loaded or not loaded.

Sensitive to tyre pressures and head winds at speed.

24.2mpg

11.7l/100kms

600.1kms....70.26litres diesel

2003 defender xtreme td5

roofrack= spare on roof 2 antennas bullbar
around 100 kilos of bitsnpieces in back and 105kilos ballast in drivers seat
towbar and snorkel standard everything else down to tyres
total 2.4t weight with me in it.

morning run no traffic to work
home run all stop start in traffic

all these factors will affect fuel economy along with the weight of the right foot. so dont cry if your mate is getting better fuel economy... he might not touch the accelerator, or may never be in a hurry.(like i always am)
no two engines are built to the same specs/clearances.

on identical models however figures should be similar.

enjoy where you can go, not how much to get there.

its all good

I managed 9.5L/100km over the Simpson, at nearly 3000kg, used only 61L or 3/4 of a tank. Usually I get 11 or so. I was trying hard to minimise fuel use over the Simmo though.

There are people who spend all weekend cleaning the car.
And there are people who drive Discovery.

I know why he's getting that sort of mileage rob, he says his wife no longer drives the disco, that's because she's pushing it half the time to keep the consumption down.
