		Outback tourer.. My take..

Some interesting things coming up here!!! Why anyone would want Rover Axles is anyone's guess.. Ceramic clutches are harsh, and wear out the flywheel and pressure plate before the disk itself!!! No turbo??
Here's mine.. Most of you have seen it. LR 101, which comes with a solid flat ladder chassis, forward control driving position giving plenty of room behind, twin under slung fuel tanks carrying 180lt of diesel, twin rear spares mounted outside at the rear for weight distribution, std Salisbury Axles with 3.54:1 diffs (strongest LR axle available and reliable) mounted on two leaf parabolic springs, Intercooled low pressure turboed Cummins 6Bt 5.9 Diesel engine linked to a ZF 5 speed gearbox designed to take the power and torque, LT230 transfer case (known for its strength with a few mods), internal double bed, Webber, Camp Oven, Eskies and food boxes.... Still to come lightweight hardtop, rear under floor hydraulic winch, simple roof rack with top lights and tie points for lightweight items.
I've gone for big lazy power on solid axles, mechanical injection, box like vehicle. Having spent many a month trucking around Africa and a fair few weeks out bush (lots more planned), I've learned that the 'KISS' theory is the best!! :)
