This is actually a 100" RR chassis with Defender rear cross member and outriggers.

The body is D110 with the rear tub shortened both at the front and rear (bobbed)

There is even a show on Discovery Channel about building a D100 from a RR chassis.

I have the DVD of the show, about 5 hours worth of material - REAL good watch.

The DVD is called "A 4x4 is borne" and is available for about $45

LRHybrid, just completed a 3.9V8 auto conversion to a Defender 110 Trayback. Man is it different to drive to the old 300Tdi. Haven't had a chance to get it amounst the tough stuff yet but on the road it's a dream to drive. I'm sticking with the 110 wheelbase but the next plan is to relocate the fuel tank further up the chassis and chop part of the rear chassis overhang off. Means shortening the tray but I dont need a big tray and departure angle will be much better. Sits a lot higher with a much lighter petrol engine to. Will update my gallery pics after Christmas.

Regards, Barry.

Yay !!! Hope for Doris yet.

I'll look forward to this with great anticipation - keep us up to date on it.
Also if you have a look at Serg's gfallery (Uninformed) you'll see what a tray chop without any chassis alterations can accomplish....

P.S. When you do post the details / info start a new thread as I'm SURE this would be a topic of general interest. 8)

Utes......Yep

I have for some time now thought about a Nice Disco Ute.

My 3 Door is Begging For it.
I might just have to get the Alcan can opener on to it one day.

I made a Volvo Ute and Volvo Convertible once. Was quite Fun.

Hard part is making the back of the Disco into a Ute. Cab Chassis is the smart easy way. Still have the Rear panel problem, but then again a quick trip to the wreckers to size up a Jap Ute could work.
Then next hard part would be the Alloy to Steel Joining......
I suppose Pop rivits like a Defender???

Dreaming........... :? Ahh Super Glue. Its got a Chassis. Who needs Strength in the body...
