I have said detroit and an airlocker for sale, $1000 the pair.

I have been most impressed with the detroit, far more than I thought i'd be. Only selling them as my rangie now sports GQ diffs F&R

No excess tyre wear. The only thing I noticed was slightly more understeer on very fast sweeping bends, but you hardly notice it and it is not as bad as running the wrong tyre pressure

To answer your question about LSDs in the front, yes, it does make a great difference. I havnt experienced LSDs in a Land Rover, but a '78 F100...they had a rear LSD standard and an optional front LSD in the 4WD models. Unstoppable! But you had to remember to unlock the hubs when you were finished, as they were a bit weird to steer on the bitumen with the front LSD fighting you.

In a Permanent 4WD application, Id advise against a Front LSD, but a Rear one would be excellent. If you had permanent 4WD wanted to have the front axle with some sort of traction aid, I suggest an air locker in the front...and rear as well.

But you'l find, that with just an LSD in the rear, you'll get most places you'll want to go. After all, it is Land Rover!

IMHO, I'd go for the Maxi-Drive Vacuum Operated Diff Locks. They might cost more first up, but they are a better system in my opinion. It will also upgrade your axles etc at the same time, making it a stronger combination all over!

    Cheers
