35% window tinting a good idea?

Back on window tinting, I'm leaning towards 50% for the side and rear windows, on the theory it will significantly reduce light and heat penetration and make the interior more private, but not be so dark it would cause safety issues for the driver. What do you think?

I am interested in dark tint for my new Defender, but not for anything other than privacy. I don't want people to see what I have inside, they might want it.

As for the constant cry of 'that's not legal' is it legal to go darker on the rear sides than the drivers door as I have heard?

I understood it was just 35% minimum on all windows, but I could be wrong.

I have often wondered about this in qld

I have a 110 which I bought 6 years ago with its tinting

But can't be legal in Qld as it is very very dark in the back and just as bad in the front. Don't get me wrong it's great due to me having young kids and saves them.

But being dark certain helps the AC and makes it work a lot better in my mind.

But just waiting to be pulled over by the police.

do you not looking out your rear windows when you do a head check?

I had to fit a rear camera on my 110 when I got it. Mainly due to the fact I could be see anything out the back window when reversing at night. This was due to the dark tint on the back window.

However, now I can't decide if 35% is too dark or 50% is too light.
